At about 6:15 p.m. on April 28, members of the Weymouth Police Narcotics Unit allegedly observed Santo and his passenger, a 19-year-old female, operating a gray Toyota Camry. The two picked up a male party at a business on Washington Street in Weymouth and drove through Mediterranean Drive before dropping the passenger off on Middle Street at Main Street, police said.

The dropped off person was approached by police. The party admitted to arraigning a drug transaction with Sando, adding that Santo had thrown the drugs from the vehicle on Mediterranean Drive before being stopped.

Police stopped the Camry on Route 3 and took Santo into custody.

The female passenger and her two-year-old child that was in the vehicle were transported to the station and a 51A report was filed with Department of Children and Families.

Santo was released on bail and was scheduled for arraignment in Quincy District Court on May 2.
