Man Charged With Killing Weymouth Teen Arrested
Jaquan X. Shepard, 20, of Lynn, was arrested for the murder of 17-year-old Philip Demings of Weymouth.
BOSTON, MA — The man who police say killed a Weymouth teen was taken into custody Tuesday
Jaquan X. Shepard, 20, of Lynn was arrested for the murder of 17-year-old Philip Demings of Weymouth. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Dorchester Municipal Court.
“I commend the work that my homicide unit detectives continue to do. Their commitment to seeking justice for victims and families of homicide is admirable. As with every homicide investigation, they worked relentlessly to identify and apprehend the suspect in this case. While I hope that news of this arrest brings some comfort to the family of the victim, it should also send a message that the BPD is committed to solving every single homicide and holding the perpetrators accountable," Police Commissioner William Evans said in a statement.

On Dec. 19, at about 7:15 p.m., Boston Police responded to a call for a person shot on Bowdoin Street. At the scene, officers located a man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as Demings of Weymouth, was pronounced dead at the scene.
