Man Charged In Weymouth Carjacking

A man told police he was carjacked at gunpoint overnight in Weymouth.

WEYMOUTH, MA – Weymouth police have charged a 25-year-old Attleboro man in connection with an overnight carjacking. Jacob Garvin faces charges of armed carjacking, assault by means of a dangerous weapon to wit a firearm, threats to murder, larceny of a motor vehicle, failure to stop for police and speeding.

According to reports, the victim told police he was stopped at the intersection of Middle and Broad streets when a man opened the driver's side door, pointed a gun at him and asked if he wanted to die. The driver got out of the car and ran away.

Police attempted to pull over the Honda and an Infiniti G Series that the victim identified as possibly being connected to the carjacking, but only the Honda stopped, according to a police report cited by the Patriot Ledger. The Honda then drove off, leading to a pursuit on Rt. 3 before the car pulled over again about a half mile away, the Ledger reported.
