MassDOT Worker From Weymouth Seriously Injured In I-95 Crash
A 53-year-old MassDOT worker was among those involved in a multi-car crash that shut down I-95 Monday afternoon.

WEYMOUTH, MA – Three people, including a MassDOT employee, were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on I-95 Monday. At least two of the injuries were serious, state police said. Emergency crews responded to the crash on the northbound side of the highway in the Westwood and Dedham area at approximately 12 p.m.
Police said a MassDOT employee driving a 2016 Department of Transportation pickup truck was responding to a report of debris on the highway and had pulled over in the left breakdown lane.
Two northbound vehicles that were behind the pickup slowed down. A third vehicle, a 2000 Chevrolet van, did not slow down in and swerved to the left to avoid hitting the cars in front of it.

The driver of the van, a 37-year-old Canton man, was extricated and transported by medical helicopter to Beth Israel-Deaconess Hospital in Boston. The MassDOT employee was taken by ambulance Beth Israel-Deaconess. Both men sustained what police described as "incapacitating injuries."
