Missing Elderly Woman from Weymouth Located

WEYMOUTH, MA - A Weymouth woman who was believed to be missing actually moved and didn't tell anyone.

The Weymouth Police Department has announced that Ellen Griffin has been located in Florida by the state's sheriff's department. Previously, Griffin was last seen leaving her Weymouth apartment on May 16 at 5 a.m.

Tuesday, Florida news station WWSB reported that a bus driver in Sarasota noticed Griffin on his bus and alerted police that he had a rider that matched a description of the reportedly missing woman.

Griffin told police that she moved to Florida to get away from others and chose not to tell her family so they would not interfere with her decision.

Griffen is currently residing at the Salvation Army as she searches for a new home.
