Mosquito Spraying to Be Held at Weymouth Elementary School
The spraying comes just a week after it was determined a Weymouth resident died of the EEE virus.

The Weymouth Public School scheduled a mosquito spraying at Ralph Talbot Primary School on Monday.
The aerosol spray, designed to lower the population of mosquitoes during a significant breeding season, started in June, and will continue until Sept. 30.
The spraying comes just a week after it was determined a Weymouth resident died of the EEE virus.

The Department of Agricultural Resources sent home a notice to all parents, alerting them of the pesticide spraying. The bulletin explained that the spraying would be conducted by certified workers who have a valid Pesticide Bureau Applicator license.
The Sate Department of Public Health currently lists Hingham as a “High” risk for EEE.

The state also raised the risk level to “High” in the nearby towns of Hanover, Hanson, Rockland and Whitman.
Amherst, MA is the only other town listed as “High” and the only town in the state where the risk of contracting EEE is rated as "critical" is Belchertown.
