WATCH: New Weymouth Mayor Sworn-in

Monday was the first day on the new job for Weymouth Mayor Robert Hedlund.

At 8:30 a.m., about a half-hour after resigning from the state Senate, Hedlund was sworn in as the new mayor, according to the Patriot Ledger.

Gov. Charlie Baker swore Hedlund in a second time during a ceremony at Abigail Adams Middle School.

Hedlund is the third mayor of Weymouth since the town switched forms of government in 2000. He succeeds the first mayor David Madden and Susan Kay, who he defeated in November.
