Open Road Coffeehouse wraps up fall season with Rockland musician

On November 12, 2022, Rockland musician Rob Henriksen takes the stage at the Open Road Coffeehouse to close out the event’s fall series. The show takes place in the parish hall at Channing Church at 45 Webster Street in Rockland, doors open at 7. There is no fee to attend, though a donation is recommended. Refreshments available for purchase and there will be an open mic set during intermission.

“This is the first year we’ve been able to host back to back shows,” says Rick Snee, one of the volunteer organizers of the Open Road Coffeehouse. “Because of COVID, we had to cancel our first full season, and only just recently finished hosting our original lineup of bands.”

Last Spring, local Americana duo, Cold Chocolate, performed at the singular coffeehouse event. Then in September and October, the show featured Sweet Wednesday and the Jethros, respectively.

“We’re excited to have Rob at our November show. We always try to find local talent to showcase at these events, and having someone from Rockland is a great way to close out our Fall lineup,” Snee says.

After the upcoming show, the Open Road Coffeehouse will be on break for the winter. The event returns in March for three additional shows: Obscure Notation, a jazz fusion group on March 11th, Pretty Saro an American roots trio on April 8th, and Media Panic, an alternative rock band on May 13th.

Channing Church has hosted over 50 coffeehouse events over the years. In 2019, they relaunched the event as the Open Road Coffeehouse to continue their legacy as a cultural hub in the heart of Rockland.
