Pacini's Loses Food and Liquor Licenses

The Board of Licensing has revoked both licenses for the Italian restaurant, which has been closed since the beginning of the month.

The Weymouth Board of Licensing has revoked the food and liquor license for Pacini’s Italian Eatery at 824 Washington St. after discovering that the operator was running the establishment without the town’s blessing.

Former owner Ramin Doorandish said he sold the restaurant with the new owner not taking the steps to acquire a transfer of the beer and wine and common victualler licenses.

“He started the process of the licensing transfer. My frustration is as much your frustration,” he said, “I’m no longer involved. I’m not even in contact with the person.”

A police investigation showed that Pacini’s has been out of operation since at least May 4.

License holders must seek approval from the board prior to operating. Failure to do so can result in the suspension or revocation of a license.

“I don’t know if this board has any other choice than to go for revocation,” Town Solicitor George Lane said.

Public Health Director Daniel McCormack added that his department has received multiple complaints concerning the establishment and a suspension of the food permit was already in the works.
