Police Looking for Robber who Struck Man with Saw

WEYMOUTH, MA - Police in Weymouth are searching for a man who they say struck a convenience store worker with a handsaw.

Early Friday morning, the clerk at the EZ Mart at 1166 Washington St. told police that a man in a hood and scarf jumped the counter in an attempt to open the register, according to the Patriot Ledger. After being unable to open the register, the suspect used a saw to cut the power cable and steal the register.

After the suspect dropped the register outside, the clerk hit him several times before the suspect hit the clerk with the saw.

After the fight, the man got away with $500 from the register. The robber is described at skinning white male, about 5’10.
