Police Say Homeless Man Sold Drugs To Minors In Weymouth

WEYMOUTH, MA — A homeless man faces charges for allegedly selling drugs to minors, police said.
Emanuel Lopes, 19, was arrested Monday night and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute to minors, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and resisting arrest. He is scheduled to appear in Quincy District Court Wednesday, according to the court's clerk's office.
Monday night, police received a report of a drug deal around North Street and Wessagusset Road, according to a police report obtained by the Patriot Ledger. At the scene, police found six people who appeared to be minors in an abandoned home with alcohol nearby.

As police conducted pat-frisk searches, Lopes allegedly fled into a nearby wooded area. He was found about an hour later near the sea shore wood line, according to the report.
At the scene, police found cocaine and a digital scale inside a backpack owned by Lopes.

Lopes is being held until Wednesday's arraignment, according to the clerk's office.
