Police Seize $38,000, Charge Man with Distributing Marijuana

Over $38,000 in cash and 10 pounds of marijuana has been seized from the home of a 47-year-old Weymouth man by police.

Over $38,000 in cash and 10 pounds of marijuana has been seized from the home of a 47-year-old Weymouth man by police.

On Thursday, Shane Devine, pleaded not guilty in Quincy District Court to distribution of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, cultivation of marijuana, possession of Percocet, possession of hashish and conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act according to the Weymouth News.

Police say that an officer observed Devine selling marijuana at the corner of Columbian Street and Park Avenue West. After the alleged exchange, the two people that met with Devine showed police the marijuana that was purchased.

After police stopped Devine, he gave police a bag with a quarter-pound of marijuana, two-quarter ounce bags of marijuana, and two Percocet pills.

A search of his house resulted in the seizure of marijuana and $38,000.

Devine was ordered held on $3,500 bail.
