A one-time Roslindale Post Office worker has been charged after stacks of undelivered mail were found in the back of an SUV.

WEYMOUTH, MA – A former Roslindale Post Office worker was arrested Tuesday and charged in federal court in connection with embezzling mail. Megan Hawes, 28, of Roslindale, was indicted on one count of theft of mail matter by a Postal Service employee.
Authorities say the offenses occurred from March 10, 2017 to May 10 of this year, while Hawes was employed by the Postal Service.
Hawes was arrested in connection with stacks of undelivered mail found in the back of an SUV in a Weymouth impound lot last month. The car was towed March 30 after it was pulled over for being uninsured and having an expired registration, according to the Patriot Ledger.
