Quincy Man Faces Murder, Assault Charges

QUINCY, MA - A Quincy man was arrested for allegedly stabbing a person early Sunday morning.
Charles Engren, 48, was charged with assault to murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (box cutter, according to the Quincy Police Department.

At about 2:37 a.m. Sunday, police responded to a 911 hang up call on Albatros Road. After arriving at the scene, police were told that a stabbing had occured and the victim was transported to Quincy Medical Center.
Police were told that Engren ran across the street but were informed that he left when they went to the home.

At Quincy Medical Center, the victim told police that he received a phone call from his wife that Engren was outside of the home yelling. The victim then responded to the home and encountered Engren as he stood on the porch of 192 Albatross Rd. The victim stated that he observed a box cutter in Engren's hand.
The victim said he was stabbed during the encounter.
Due to his injuries, the victim was transferred from Quincy Medical Center to Mass General Hospital for further treatment, police said.
Engren was located at the Super Petrolueum on Sea Streeet. He was scheduled to be arraigned in Quincy District Court Tuesday morning.
