In a memo to Chief Financial Officer William McKinney, Kay says that the request is to make up some of the $850,000 shortfall that was discussed after the budget for fiscal year 2015 was submitted.
$250,000 will come from free cash with the remaining $50,000 coming from Southfield funds.
For the police department, the appropriation and uses for the funds includes retroactive payouts for fiscal year 2014, seven new Chevy Tahoe cruisers, uniforms for three new officers, and the entry exam fees for the new officers.
The hearings are scheduled to start at 7:35 p.m. at Town Hall.
