Guilfoyle, who has been chairman of the School Committee for the last decade and where he served for the last twelve years, touted his collegial and collaborative approach to engaging the public and said he could continue to practice the approach as mayor.
“When I am elected, I will continue this tradition by further engaging the public. While we may not always agree, I have always believed that elected leaders must be accountable and that accountability starts with listening, promoting discussion and the democratic process,” he said.

“For quite some time, Weymouth has stalled in its efforts to gain traction in economic development and to tackle the need for new revenue streams head-on,“ Guilfoyle said. “The lack of planning and execution has unfortunately led to chronic and repetitive short falls in operational budgets town-wide and no one has stepped up to lead Weymouth in a better direction.”
On April 11, Guilfoyle will be hosting his campaign kick-off event at the American Legion George Bean Post # 79, 19 Hollis Street.
