Shooting Reported To Weymouth Police

WEYMOUTH, MA — Police are investigating reports of gunfire in Braintree and Weymouth early Monday morning.

Officers went to Arborway Drive in East Braintree at about 12:30 a.m. after receiving numerous reports of gunshots. Police say the unknown suspects fled in a vehicle prior to their arrival.

Ten .45 caliber shell casings were recovered outside a home and it appeared a power line was shot in the process, rendering it inoperable, according to Braintree Police.

It was the second time police were at the house within four hours. At 8:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a disturbance where witnesses said two men came to the front door and aimed a gun at them.

While investigating the shooting, Weymouth Police received a report of shots fired which was confirmed and not far from the Braintree address. Like the Braintree incident, the suspects fled in a vehicle prior to the arrival of officers.

Detectives are currently investigating. Anyone with information regarding either shooting is asked to call local police.
