So Far in 2016, 14 in Weymouth Dead from Overdoses
Weymouth police officers recently gave an update to the Town Council.
WEYMOUTH, MA - So far this year, 72 people in Weymouth have experienced an overdose from opioids and 14 have died, police said.
Capt. Richard Fuller recently gave an update to the Weymouth Town Council. He said that Narcan was used 42 times. Last year, there were 185 overdoses and 24 deaths. The age range was 13-68, with an average of 35.
Fuller added that they are seeing more fentanyl on the streets, remarking that it can be 50 times more powerful than heroin. He said more drug dealers are selling fentanyl as heroin or fentanyl mixed with heroin.
