South Shore Health Names VP of Operations for Ambulatory Care
In her new role, Susan Wood will be responsible for the successful overall administration and operations of the Ambulatory Care Division.

Susan Wood has been named as Vice President of Operations for South Shore Health’s Ambulatory Care Division.
In her new role, Wood will be responsible for the successful overall administration and operations of the Ambulatory Care Division.
“Susan brings a wealth of knowledge to the position and we are excited to have her on board in this new role,” said David Halle, MD, Medical Director of the Ambulatory Care Division at South Shore Health.

Wood came to the organization in 2012. Her most recent role was Executive Director of the Surgical Service Line, Critical Care Medicine and Endoscopy. She played a pivotal role in collaborating with Frederick Millham, MD, Surgeon-in-Chief and the entire surgical team in enhancing and building surgical programs. Through her leadership, South Shore Hospital’s Center for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery has been designated a Comprehensive Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program. She also provided stable leadership through our Joint Commission survey this past year.
Prior to arriving at South Shore Health, Wood was Vice President of Clinical Operations for Planned Parenthood League of Massachusetts. She also served as Administrative Director of Clinical Services at Lahey Clinic for five years.

Wood received a bachelor’s degree in Public Policy from Michigan State University and a master’s degree in Health Administration from Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine.
