South Shore Hospital Helps Families Cope With Cancer

The hospital will hold seminars for cancer patients on healthy eating habits and meet and greets with radiologists and therapists

The South Shore Hospital will hold a special program designed for cancer patients and families of cancer victims.

“The program features two seminars presented by physicians and experts, followed by an educational open house where attendees can learn about our programs and services,” said Sarah Darcy,  the Media Relations Manager at the South Shore Hospital.  “Stay for the entire program, or choose a seminar of interest and come specifically during that time frame.”

The hospital will hold the following seminars on Thursday, April 4  from 4-7 p.m. at 101 Columbian St., South Weymouth:

Seminar: Eating to Feel Your Best During Cancer Treatment
4-4:45 p.m. · First Floor Conference Room
Our nutritionist will discuss the role of nutrition during treatment. Learn ways to achieve and maintain a healthy weight, and food tips to explore during treatment and beyond

Seminar: Ask the Expert
5-6 p.m. · First Floor Conference Room
Join a panel of physicians from radiology as well as medical, surgical and radiation oncology as they describe their role/approach, and answer questions from the audience.

Cancer Care Open House
6-7 p.m. · First Floor
Our specialists will be available to answer your questions and provide information on many of our programs and services, including integrative therapies, spiritual care, palliative care, social work, and Helping Children Cope with a Loved One’s Cancer.  Light refreshments will be served. Free parking available in garage adjacent the Cancer Center. Registration is not required. Please call (781) 624-4793 for more information.
