South Shore Hospital Opens Remodeled Emerson Building

The original four-story Emerson building has been expanded by 40 feet and two new floors have been added.

South Shore Hospital is opening their newly expanded and remodeled Emerson Building next weekend.

The grand opening "Festival of Caring" event is open to the public and will include performances by local choral groups, musicians and dance teams, live Zumba and yoga fitness demonstrations, health and wellness seminar, tours of the newly expanded building, prize drawings, kids’ face painting and arts and crafts, complimentary food and beverages, and a donation station for unwrapped toys to be given to a local family in need for the holiday season.

South Shore Hospital said the new Emerson building has been expanded to meet the needs of the growing number of people choosing South Shore Hospital for care. The building, which originally opened in 1989, is named in honor of Dr. George Emerson, a hospital founder.
