WEYMOUTH, MA — South Shore Hospital has been recognized as one of the best hospitals in Massachusetts and the greater Boston area
As part of their annual list of the best hospitals in America, South Shore Hospital was named the sixth best hospital in the Boston metro area and the seventh best in the state by US News and World Report.
Noted for being a go to hospital for Gynecology and Urology, South Shore Hospital was named a high performing hospital in seven categories including abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), colon cancer surgery, heart failure, hip replacement, knee replacement, and lung cancer surgery.

In Massachusetts, Mass. General in Boston was ranked as the top hospital. Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston and Bayside Medical Center in Springfield followed in second and third. Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Tufts Medical Center rounded out the top five.
