SouthField Receives Approval for Water from MWRA
The development has received preliminary approval to buy into the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority.

Water for SouthField has been approved, but it’s going to come with a hefty fee.
On Wednesday, the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority board of directors gave the development preliminary approval to connect to the system according to the Patriot Ledger. The approval is just one of many steps to go, along with a $19 million buy-in fee based on the projected water consumption of 4 million gallons per day.
A conceptual plan has a 30-inch pipeline traveling from the MWRA storage facility in the Blue Hills Reservation and going through Braintree and Weymouth. Braintree Mayor Joseph Sullivan said that the MWRA has not contacted him about the plan.
