Strong Winds Knock Out Power, Trees In Weymouth

As of 5:30 p.m., 1,422 of National Grid's 25,056 customers in town are in the dark.

WEYMOUTH, MA — Some residents in Weymouth remain without power following a strong storm Sunday night.

As of late Monday night, 542 of National Grid's 25,056 customers in town are in the dark. That is an improvement from the morning, when over 4,000 homes were without power. By 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, that figure decreased to 203.

Mayor Robert Hedlund told the Weymouth Newsthat most of the largest power outages were due to fallen trees or branches. DPW crews have spent the day removing debris.
