Three Mayoral Candidates Oppose Tax Rate Adjustments

The candidates spoke at a recent forum.

Three candidates for mayor have come out against raising residential property taxes while lowering commercial property taxes as part of an attempt to bring more business to Weymouth.

“The residents of Weymouth have spoken,” candidate Sean Guilfoyle said at a recent forum according to the Weymouth News. “They have said they don’t want residential tax rate increases.”

Last month, voters said no to a proposed $6.5 million proposition 2 1/2 override.
