Town Of Weymouth: Hedlund Announces Station 2 Reopening

The requirement for Weymouth to have every fire engine in service staffed with four firefighters is the result of a previous Administration's bargained agreement with the local fire union.

Mayor Hedlund and the Fire Union have agreed to a review of the opening of Station 2 at the end of fiscal year 2023, to ensure an open Station 2 remains needed, affordable and sustainable.

"Weymouth has long taken pride in our first responders and the level of protection and safety they bring to our residents and town.  Opening Station 2 reflects that pride and commitment," added Hedlund.
