Traffic Light Comes to Middle Street This Week

One lane of travel throughout the construction zone may be closed during the day.

From the Massachusetts Department of Transportation:

WEYMOUTH, MA — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is moving forward with a construction project in Weymouth the week of May 8 which involves the installation of traffic signals at the intersection of Middle Street, Libbey Industrial Parkway and Tara Drive. MassDOT crews and contractors will begin the project by installing construction signs, landscaping and conducting other preliminary work-related activities.

In order to allow MassDOT to safely and effectively conduct construction operations, closures of one lane of travel throughout the construction zone may be necessary on weekdays between the hours of 9:00 a.m., and 4:00 p.m., at various times throughout the project.

The full scope of work for this project, which is expected to be completed this fall, includes pavement rehabilitation and improvements, lane reconfiguration, sidewalk and installation and repairs. Additionally, crews will install and reset granite curbing, and install new signs and pavement markings.
