Transit Police Arrest Weymouth Man Wanted for Delivering Drugs to a Prisoner

A Weymouth man who is charged with delivering drugs to a prisinor was arrested by transit police Monday night.

At approximately 9:30 p.m., officers at the MBTA’s Andrew Square station in South Boston observed a male smoking a cigarette under a “No Smoking” sign. Officers approached the man, identified as 32-year-old John Mahoney, to issue a citation but discovered there was a warrant for Mahoney’s arrest issued from Dedham District Court for delivering drugs to a prisoner.

Mahoney was placed into custody and transported to MBTA Transit Police headquarters for the arrest booking process.
