Uber Driver Accused Of Raping Weymouth Woman
The driver was arraigned on a rape charge in Quincy District Court Friday.

WEYMOUTH, MA – An Uber driver has been charged with raping a 30-year-old Weymouth woman, according to the Patriot Ledger. Frederick Amfo, a Ghana native living in Quincy, was arraigned on a rape charge in Quincy District Court Friday. Amfo, 30, was ordered held on $10,000 cash bail.
According to police, Amfo picked the woman up at her friend's house in Quincy Center early Sunday, April 8. He dropped another rider off at a house near the Fore River Bridge and then asked the woman to sit in the front seat, according to a police report cited by the Patriot Ledger. She declined to, and he continued toward her destination but stopped several streets away. It was there that he locked the doors, got into the backseat and raped her, she told police.
When he dropped her off, her friend met her and took her to the hospital. Amfo has denied having sexual contact with the woman and told police he received her number and texted her several times. None of his texts were returned, the Patriot Ledger reported.
