Vacant Landing Buildings Could be Demolished in Fall
A strip of Weymouth Landing shops at the Braintree-Weymouth line could be demolished by October.

The owner of a row of vacant shops near the Braintree-Weymouth line at the Weymouth Landing is hoping to demolish the vacant buildings this fall.
Nick Delegas, who owns the properties, recently told the Weymouth News that he is proceeding with demolition plans and hopes to bring the structures down by October.
In September, Delegas submitted a plan to replace the shops with 54 apartments and 15,000-square-feet of retail. Those plans were withdrawn in December due to a lack of support.

Working on a new plan, Delegas said he is trying to figure out how it would fit in with a separate redevelopment project by Cambridge developer on the Braintree side of the Landing. That plan will go back in front of the Braintree Planning Board on Aug. 18.
