Vera Adams Memorial Approved At Weymouth Library

WEYMOUTH, MA – Weymouth's memorial committee on Monday unanimously approved Mayor Robert Hedlund's request to name one of the sunny reading rooms at the upcoming Tufts Library after Vera Adams, according to the Patriot Ledger. Designers will incorporate the memorial into the final plans for the 50,000-square-foot library on Broad Street.

Adams, 77, was shot and killed July 15 along with Weymouth Police Sgt. Michael Chesna. A memorial fund set up by Adams' family will be used to furnish the reading room.

The current library is expected to be torn down this year to make way for the Tufts Library, which is scheduled for completion in June 2020.
