Weymouth Break-in Suspects Arrested, Held on $10,000 Bail
Christopher Welch of Weymouth and Tanya Codero were charged in connection to a local break-in.

WEYMOUTH, MA — A Quincy man fled a break-in and tried to hide in a vehicle driven by a Weymouth, woman, police said.
Christopher P. Welch, 27, and Tanya Codero, 26, were arrested by Weymouth police Wednesday afternoon. Welch was charged with breaking and entering in the daytime for a felony, two counts of malicious destruction of property over $250, and possession of burglarious tools. Codero was charged with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, breaking and entering in the daytime for a felony, two counts of malicious destruction of property over $250, and possession of burglarious tools, according to the Weymouth Police Department.
On Aug. 3 at about 4:50 p.m., a man running away from a break-in on Pierce Road at Cranberry Road was reported. The caller told police that the suspect entered through a basement window before feeling the scene and jumping in a . While en route dispatch advised that the white male party fleeing the scene jumped into a black Ford Escape driving towards the area of Washington Street and Richmond Street.

Officer Regen Steverman was on Washington Street when she observed the black Ford Escape come down Richmond Street. As the vehicle pulled onto Washington Street heading southbound, only Codero could be seen but Steverman got behind the vehicle and saw a male sit up in the backseat, police said.
The two were taken into custody following a traffic stop. Welch was positively identified by witnesses and evidence was also found in the vehicle linking them to the breaking and entering.

Both suspects were held overnight on $10,000 cash bail and are due to be arraigned today in Quincy District Court.
