Weymouth Drag Race Results in Crash, Three Injured

WEYMOUTH, MA — Three people were taken to South Shore Hospital Friday night following an apparent drag race Friday night.

Police tell the Patriot Ledger that the alleged race resulted in a crash on Pleasant Street. As a result of an investigation, police learned that one of the vehicles, a truck, hit a pole before rear-ending a vehicle with two women in it. The women were taken to the hospital.

The truck was found up the road with front end damage. The driver later showed up to the police station with his parents before he was taken to South Shore Hospital.

Police are expecting file charges against the 22-year-old driver from Weymouth. Police believe that another vehicle was involved in the crash and are asking the operator to come forward.
