Weymouth Fire: 4-Alarm Blaze Impacts Commuter Rail

Crews battled a multi-alarm fire that raged at an apartment building in Weymouth

WEYMOUTH, MA – A four-alarm fire in Weymouth overnight will impact commuter rail service Thursday morning. The blaze was reported at an apartment building that is under construction on Trotter Road, according to reports.

The fire began around 3 a.m., and crews were still fighting it as of 5:30 a.m., according to the Boston Globe. Reports say the building was destroyed by the blaze.

The inbound 5:32 train on the Kingston/Plymouth Commuter Rail line is operating about 25-35 minutes late, according to the MBTA. Regular service has since resumed, but trains may still be behind schedule.

The entrance to the station parking lot is closed but service is open to passengers, the MBTA said.
