Weymouth Man Charged with Hitting Pedestrian While Drunk Held on $15K Bail

However, Thomas Mohan will be held for 90 days without bail for violating a restraining order.

WEYMOUTH, MA - A man accused of hitting a person while driving under the influence of alcohol will be held without bail for about three months.

Thomas A. Mohan, 51, of Weymouth, pleaded not guilty to operating negligently under the influence of alcohol, causing serious bodily injury, operating negligently under the influence of drugs, causing serious bodily injury, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation, according to the Norfolk County District Attorney’s office.

Mohan was arraigned Wednesday afternoon at South Shore Hospital. He was ordered held on $15,000 bail but will be held without bail for 90 days after violating a restraining order out of Hingham District Court. If Mohan posts bail, he will not be allowed to drive during the case and must submit to drug and alcohol testing.

Assistant Norfolk District Attorney Michael Pirrello requested $25,000 bail.

Around midday Tuesday, Mohan allegedly drove down Route 53 before hitting a vehicle and a pedestrian. Video of the sobriety test shows Mohan falling on his face before being taken into custody.

The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.

Mohan is due back in Quincy District Court on March 22 for a pre-trial conference.
