Weymouth Man Charged In Norton Car Wash Break-In
Prosecutors say Kenneth Dexter broke into a car wash change machine.

NORTON, MA — A Weymouth man faces charges after allegedly breaking into a coin machine at a car wash in Norton.
Kenneth Dexter, 32, of Weymouth, faces a charge of breaking into cash receptacles at Norton Car Wash on West Main Street. He was arraigned Wednesday in Attleboro District Court, according to the Sun Chronicle. Bail was set at $1,500
Prosecutors say video surveillance from a September incident shows Dexter committing the break-in and footage of a similar crime in Marshfield both have a suspect in a dark sweatshirt. Cellphone GPS records allegedly show that calls were made near the car wash on a phone connected to the suspect.

Paul Whelan, Dexter's attorney, said his client could not have committed the Norton crime because he was behind bars at the time of the incident and noted that the video evidence did not show the suspect's facial features.
Dexter is due back in court on March 17.
