Weymouth Man Charged in Stabbing Over YouTube Goat Video
Kevin Sullivan, 28, is charged with stabbing a man after allegedly getting upset over a shared YouTube video about a goat.

WEYMOUTH, MA - A Weymouth man stabbed another person after taking the sharing of an apparently unrelated YouTube video as a slight, police said.
Kevin Sullivan, 28, was arraigned Monday in Quincy District Court. He is charged with assault and battery with a deadly weapon. He is free on $2,500 bail.
On May 6 at about 7:07 p.m., police received multiple calls for a fight on Sea Street. Upon arriving at the scene, they observed a man in the street suffering from multiple stab wounds.

Outside, the victim’s girlfriend told police that the suspect, Sullivan, was mad over a YouTube video she shared about a goat named Kevin. In the video, the goat acts in a disrespectful manner toward other goats. Sullivan did not take kindly to this.
“(Victim’s girlfriend) stated that Kevin Sullivan believed this to be a direct insult towards him and this meant that he was a bad father,” a police report obtained at Quincy District Court read.

The girlfriend said that Sullivan left a voicemail stating that he wanted to fight, but the two had talked multiple times afterward and thought they could smooth things over. When the victim and his girlfriend went to Sullivan’s home, Sullivan was outside with his wife. Sullivan and the victim allegedly proceeded to fight, which led to the stabbing.
The victim then went to his car, grabbed a wrench-like tool described as a crowbar, and chased Sullivan, who ran into his home where police found him, the report said.
Sullivan was found with blood on his hands, lower arm, and shirt, according to the report. Sullivan told police that the stabbing was in self-defense and he was uninjured. He then changed his story and said he was struck by the victim, police said.
Sullivan’s wife's recollection of the event was similar to the victim's girlfriend, according to police, but she said the victim was the aggressor. Another witness stated that the victim didn’t grab the tool until after the stabbing.
Sullivan is due back in court on July 22 for a pretrial hearing.
