Weymouth Man Faces Firearm Charges in Boston

BOSTON, MA — A Weymouth man arrested on New Year's Eve faces gun charges in Boston.
Cartwright J. Jones, 20, of Weymouth, was arrested on Dec. 31 and faces charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number, and unlawfully carrying a loaded firearm, according to the Boston Police Department.
At about 10:20 P.M. officers were on-site for an arrest for firearm related charges in the area of Topliff and Holiday Streets in Dorchester. Due to information gleaned from a gang investigation, officers became aware that three underage males known to them may be in possession of a firearm, police said.

After locating the men and setting up surveillance, officers approached the suspects and Jones turned from officers as if concealing an item on his person.
During a pat frisk of Jones, police allegedly recover a loaded 9mm Highpoint Lugar Model c9 with an obliterated serial number that he had tucked under his left armpit.
