Weymouth Man Gets Class Ring Back After 45 Years

Glenn Pelrine hadn't seen the ring since 1973, when it came off while he was waterskiing in Middleboro.

WEYMOUTH, MA – After four decades, Glenn Pelrine finally has his class ring back. The Weymouth retiree lost his Franklin Institute Class of 1971 ring when it came off his finger while he was waterskiing in Middleboro in 1973.

Forty-five years later, Pelrine received a Facebook message from a woman who said she and her boyfriend found his ring while metal detecting at the South Middleboro pond, according to the Patriot Ledger. She told Pelrine she was able to track him down because his name was engraved on the inside.

The woman, who works at a jewelry store in Middleboro, had the ring professionally cleaned, polished and resized for Pelrine, the Patriot Ledger reported.
