Weymouth PD Investigating Possible Vandalism At Chesna Memorial

Police said an "unknown liquid substance" was found on the memorial to Sgt. Michael Chesna at King Oak Hill Park.

WEYMOUTH, MA — Police are investigating possible vandalism at a memorial to slain Weymouth Police Sgt. Michael Chesna. Officers responding to a report of vandalism at King Oak Hill Park Monday found an "unknown liquid substance" on Chesna's memorial, according to 7-News.

The substance was removed and did not cause permanent damage to the memorial. Police are reviewing surveillance video in the area.

Chesna was shot and killed on July 15, 2018 while responding to a report of an erratic driver near South Shore Hospital. He was 42 years old.
