Three Arrested in Weymouth For Growing Over 2,000 Marijuana Plants
Police also seized $75,000 in cash, 4 vehicles, a stun gun, 3 assault rifles, and 19 other firearms.

Three men have been arrested on drug charges after police dismantled a multi-town illegal marijuana operation in Weymouth.
Wai Yip Chu, 39, of Braintree, Tommy Nguyen, 36, of Braintree, and Chanh Nguyen, 42, of Randolph, were charged marijuana trafficking, cultivating marijuana, and conspiracy to violate the drug laws.
According to the Weymouth Police Detectives, the department, along with the DEA and detectives from Randolph, Braintree, Carver, Massachusetts State Police, Quincy, Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department, and Norfolk County Sheriff Department, recently completed an investigation of the major illegal marijuana growing operation spanning several towns.

In at least one home, the three men used a power line to steal electricity according to WCVB.
Detectives executed a total of nine search warrants that were obtained by Weymouth detectives. There were search warrants for seven residences in Carver, Randolph, and Braintree. Two of the search warrants were for vehicles.

During the execution of the search warrants detectives recovered over 2,000 marijuana plants in various stages of growth, approximately $75,000 in cash, 4 vehicles, a stun gun, 3 assault rifles, and 19 other firearms.
All three suspects were released last night after posting $10,000 cash bail and were arraigned in Quincy District Court on Wednesday.
