Weymouth Police Make Heroin Arrest After Drug Falls Out of Suspect's Pocket

Weymouth Police Detectives have arrested 26-year-old Scott S. Buckman of 60 Juniper Road in Holbrook on charges of trafficking in heroin.
On Thursday, September 10th, at approximately 9:00 AM, Detective David Galvin was in the area of Lake Street at Joseph Fern Court when he observed what he believed to be a drug transaction between Buckman and another man. Buckman entered the other person’s vehicle and then drove a short distance down the street to a convenience store. Detective Galvin stopped the vehicle on Lake Street. While Detective Galvin was speaking to Buckman a bag of brown powder fell from his shorts. The bag contained approximately 35 grams of heroin. Over $1000 in cash was also recovered from Buckman. The operator of the vehicle admitted that he had come to meet Buckman to purchase heroin from him.

Buckman was arrested and charged with trafficking in heroin. He was later transported to Quincy District Court for arraignment. The charge of trafficking in over 18 grams of heroin carries a two year minimum mandatory sentence.
