Weymouth Police Nab 5 for Drunken Driving in 13 Hours

Among the five were two second-time offenders and third-time offender.

WEYMOUTH, MA - Police in Weymouth were busy Thursday and early Friday morning, arresting five people in a span of 13 hours for drunken driving.

On March 3, at about 12:10 p.m., an officer was flagged down by a witness who pointed out a vehicle and reported that he believed the operator to be intoxicated, according to police. The officer located the vehicle on Pond Street where he observed the vehicle operating erratically. After a traffic stop in the driveway of the Fulton School Residences on Pond Street, Danielle L. Ingemi, 42 of Weymouth, was arrested and charged with drunken driving, operating to endanger, and marked lanes violations. She was later released on personal recognizance.

About 3 hours later at 3:12 p.m. police received a report of an erratic operator on Bridge Street. An officer located the vehicle and stopped it on Pecksuot Road in North Weymouth. The operator, Kevin C. Burns, 40, of Weymouth, was arrested and charged with his second drunken driving offense. He was later released on personal recognizance.

At 5:52 p.m., officers responded to Shaw’s Plaza on a report of a person driving around the parking lot throwing bottles out the window of the vehicle. Officers located the vehicle in the parking lot and the operator Steven L. McCormick, 54, from Weymouth, was arrested. He was charged with his third drunken driving offense, negligent operation of a vehicle, and possession of an open container of alcohol in a vehicle. He was held overnight on $10,000 cash bail.

On March 4 at 1:15 a.m, an officer was travelling Southbound on Bridge Street when he observed a vehicle travelling in front of him that was operating erratically. During a traffic stop near 765 Bridge St, Sarah L. Gorman 24, of Hingham, was arrested and charged with her second drunken driving offense, negligent operation of a vehicle, and marked lanes violations. She was held overnight on $500 cash bail.

Less than a half-hour later, an officer observed a vehicle at the gas station at 185 Washington St. drive over the curb and then strike a metal barrier protecting the gas pump while backing up. After the officer pulled into the gas station Charles W. Walker, 39 of Scituate, was arrested and charged with operating under the influence of alcohol. He was held overnight on $500 cash bail.

All five suspects were arrested after investigations and are due to be arraigned Friday in Quincy District Court
