Weymouth Power Outages: 6,000+ In Dark
Thousands regained power before the number of those in the dark spiked again.

WEYMOUTH, MA — Updated at 11:15 p.m.: - More than 6,000 in the Weymouth area are still in the dark after transformer problems caused a power outage. Nearby towns have some in the dark as well, but the majority of outages are in Weymouth. According to Scan Weymouth, the power lines at Pond Street and Main Street are down by Factory Paint & Decorating.
National Grid said more than 6,000 customers lost power around 7:15 p.m., and it wasn't expected to be fully back until 9:30. There were still more than 3,400 without power as of 10:30, according to National Grid. Those outages were expected to be restored by 11:30. Then National Grid said more than 6,000 were once again in the dark, and power wasn't expected to be restored until after 1 a.m. this time.
