Weymouth Ranked Among Top MA Suburbs for Millennials

Weymouth is among the top suburbs in the Bay State for millennials, according to a new survey.

Niche, which ranks U.S. communities and colleges, recently released its list of the best Massachusetts suburbs for Millennials. Weymouth was 47.

Part of a release of multiple surveys, the rankings were based on age demographics, school ratings, crime rates, affordable housing, child care, libraries, and grocery stores, among other factors.

Here’s the top 10:

2. Brookline
3. Watertown
4. Quincy
5. Malden
6. Northampton
7. Norwood
8. Easthampton
9. Everett
10. Revere

Here’s how Niche ranked Weymouth’s attributes:

• Easiest Commute Grade: A
• Residents 25-34 Years Old: 12.0 percent
• Crime & Safety Grade: C+
• Millennial Newcomers: 1.7 percent
• Unemployment Rate: 5.6 percent
• Access to Bars: B
• Access to Restaurants: A
• Access to Coffee Shops: A
• Median Rent: $1,103 percent
• Percent Change in Employees: 2.6 percent
• Rent to Income Ratio: 0.4 : 1
• Higher Education Rate: 32.7 percent
• Resident Diversity - Most Represented Ethnicity: 89 percent
