Weymouth School Committee Split on Superintendent Search Process
The board will revisit the issue at their Jan. 7 meeting.

The Weymouth School Committee will wait until two new members join the board in January before making a decision on how to move forward with replacing Superintendent Kenneth Salim.
With a discussion on the process from Thursday tabled until Jan. 7, both John Sullivan and Mayor-elect Robert Hedlund will join the board.
The board currently is split on the best way to find Salim’s successor. Sean Guilfoyle and members Diana Flemer, Tracey Nardone and Chairwoman Lisa Belmarsh want to start with internal candidatea, while Kathleen Curran and Gail Sheehan said they would like to see a broader search.
