Weymouth School Committee to Address Issue of Snow Days Tonight

The Weymouth School Committee is expected to discuss ways to make up school days lost due to the recent run of terrible weather during their meeting tonight.

The item, “Proposal for Adjustments to 2014-2015 Calendar” is listed under discussion items.

At the high school, 11 days have been lost due to snowstorms or snow removal. High school students will return to school today after nearly two and a half weeks off due to a snowstorm, efforts to remove snow from the school’s roof, and February vacation.

The school district is expected to request a waiver from the Department of Education to have a school year shorter than the required 180 days according to FOX 25.

Tonight’s meeting is scheduled to take place at Weymouth High School at 7 p.m.
