Weymouth Shooting: Man Killed Had Attempted Murder Charges
Police identified the 26-year-old man killed in Tuesday night's shooting as Nicky Gomes.

WEYMOUTH, MA — One men is dead another and another injured after a shooting late Tuesday night near the Weymouth Commons Apartments, Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey said. No arrests have been made.
The man who was killed has been identified as 26-year-old Nicky Gomes, formerly of Brockton. Gomes has a history of gun and drug arrests and was charged with attempted murder after a shooting outside a Sharon hotel in 2016.
The man who survived is in his late 20s.

There was a large police presence on Rockaway Ave., and residents were not being allowed in or out of the Commons.
There were early scanner reports that three suspects escaped in a vehicle.

The last homicides in Weymouth were those of Sgt. Michael Chesna and Vera Adams in July, Morrissey said.
