Weymouth Up In Statewide School District Rankings

WEYMOUTH, MA — School Digger, a nationwide school rankings site, released its updated list of top Massachusetts schools and school districts Thursday, and the Weymouth Public School System was ranked higher than it was a year ago. In the new rankings, which were based partially on MCAS test data the state released last week, Weymouth was 190th, up from 205th a year ago.

The rankings mean Weymouth performed better up than 43.1 percent of all other districts in the state. That's below the high water mark of 59.5 percent posted in 2010.

Thursday's School Digger release also showed how individual schools in the district compared to every other school in the state:

• Hamilton Primary School, 89th of 934 elementary schools.
• Academy Avenue Elementary, 297th of 934 elementary schools.
• Talbot Elementary, 371st of 934 elementary schools.
• Nash Elementary, 524th of 934 elementary schools.
• Murphy Elementary, 541st of 934 elementary schools.
• Seach Elementary, 574th of 934 elementary schools.
• Pingree Elementary, 602nd of 934 elementary schools.
• Chapman Middle School, 298th of 476 middle schools.
• Adams Middle School, Unranked
• Weymouth High School, 191st of 340 high schools.
