Weymouth Still Fighting Compression Station
An appeal hearing could take place on Feb. 15.

WEYMOUTH, MA — Town officials are continuing to fight a proposed compressor station in Weymouth.
The Patriot Ledger reports that town officials recently attended a pre-hearing conference to review the conservation commissions appeal of Department of Environmental Protection’s superseding order of conditions for the station.
In May, Spectra Energy's application for a permit was denied by the commission. A full appeal hearing in front of the state is expected to take place on Feb 15. Final say on the project could come from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission.

Earlier this year, the town turned down a mitigation agreement in exchange for dropping opposition to the project.
If approved, Spectra Energy will construct a 7,700-horsepower compressor station near the Weymouth end of the Fore River Bridge.
